Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 1999
Valpolicella (Veneto)
Corvina, Corvinone
|
Red Wine |
Score: ✧✧✧✭ |
This Amarone shows an intense ruby red color and nuances of garnet red,
little transparency. The nose denotes intense, clean, pleasing and refined
aromas that start with hints of plum and blueberry followed by aromas of
black cherry, black currant jam, dried violet, vanilla, licorice, caramel
and hints of carob. In the mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a
slightly tannic attack and however balanced, full body, intense flavors,
good tannins. The finish is persistent with flavors of plum, black cherry
and blueberry. This wine ages for three years in barrique followed by one
year of aging in bottle.
