Franciacorta (Lombardy)
Chardonnay (50%), Pinot Nero (50%)
|
Sparkling Wine |
Score: ✧✧✧✧✭ |
Franciacorta Extra Brut shows a brilliant straw yellow color and nuances of
straw yellow, very transparent, fine and persistent perlage. The nose
denotes intense, clean, pleasing, refined and elegant aromas that start
with hints of banana, apple and bread crust followed by aromas of plum,
grapefruit, praline, butter, yeast, pear, hazelnut, hawthorn and tangerine.
The mouth has good correspondence to the nose, an effervescent and crisp
attack, however balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors, agreeable.
The finish is persistent with flavors of banana, grapefruit and apple. A
part of the base wine ages in cask. This Franciacorta Extra Brut referments
in bottle for at least 42 months. |
